It turns out that being an influencer is hard work and takes up A LOT of time. From scheduling in daily posts and IG stories to researching companies to mention in the hopes of a re-post. All to increase engagement and to get noticed on the platform!
Here is a breakdown of week one by account name, be sure to follow your favourite page and tell us what you think of each:
Olivia’s page focuses on her slimming world lifestyle and fellow dieters are loving her healthy food posts with detailed captions about her weight loss journey. Brands such as Hartleys have liked Liv’s posts.
This page is focused on female empowerment, body positivity, pretty looking meals and drinks. Alys has been busy posting, filtering and adding great content on her IG story.
The.feminist.foodie has even been noticed by brands such as Neom and Alpro by featuring on their story.
Michelle is documenting her style journey since turning 40 in April showing that you can still be a fashionista at 40 and feel 20 years old. After all, age is just a number. The page is off to a fantastic start, Ted Baker has even approached Michelle to feature on their account – a huge achievement for an influencer in week 1!
This page is full of house inspiration as it follows Katie’s enthusiasm for interiors and décor since buying her first home recently. She is off to a great start and has been busy tagging huge brands such as French Connection, Primark Home and Anthropologie. Engagement numbers are looking very positive!
Louise is an active fitness lover plus an ex-gymnast, so it made sense to focus her account on her biggest challenges to date – a 250km race across the Sahara! We follow her journey of training and willpower through the page.
The page focuses on kids’ fashion and Nazia has used her niece as her muse. The page is off to a good start with a high number of likes and the Kids book series Dork Diaries have liked one of the posts.
Sadie has decided to focus on her love of vintage furniture and accessories. The account is off to a slow start because of the time that it takes to stage Sadie’s home for photographs. Although she does have plenty of furniture, so she needs to get snapping!
Kieron is concentrating on his every day passion – all things web development including SASS, Typescript and WordPress. His posts are taking longer to create as he is educating his audience on a more complex topic than the rest of us.
Josh has dedicated his page to casual travel and street photography. All photographs have been taken by his Olympus E-M10 Mark II and are monochrome. He started the challenge a few days later than the rest of us due to his planning stage. However, he has started well, and the numbers are looking promising.
